NHL: Phoenix 6, Buffalo 2

GLENDALE, Ariz., Jan. 21 (UPI) -- Shane Doan and Peter Muller each had a goal and an assist Monday, leading the Phoenix Coyotes to a 6-2 win over the Buffalo Sabres.

Daniel Winnik, Niko Kapanen, Derek Morris and Ed Jovanovski also scored for the Coyotes. Phoenix goalkeeper Ilya Bryzgalov stopped 19 of 21 shots.

Paul Gaustad and Drew Stafford scored for the Sabres, who have lost a franchise record eight straight games on the road.

Buffalo goalie Jocelyn Thibault, making only his sixth start of the season, allowed six goals on 33 shots. Buffalo hasn't won on the road since Dec.22 in Philadelphia.
