COL BKB: Georgetown 64, Syracuse 62 (OT)

WASHINGTON, Jan. 21 (UPI) -- Roy Hibbert had 15 points and nine rebounds Monday, helping ninth-ranked Georgetown post a 64-62 overtime victory over Big East-rival Syracuse.

The Hoyas (15-2, 5-1 Big East) hung on when Jonny Flynn's potential game-winning three-pointer rimmed out with time expiring.

Jonathan Wallace also had 15 points, and Jessie Sapp added 11 points, seven rebounds and five assists for the Hoyas, who recovered from a seven-point deficit late in regulation to force the overtime session.

Flynn led Syracuse (13-7, 3-4) with 24 points. Fellow freshman Donte Greene had 15 points and nine rebounds. The Orange have lost four of their last five games.

Sapp's two free throws were the only points scored for nearly the first four minutes of overtime, but Hibbert hit a jumper to put Georgetown up 64-60 with just over a minute to go.

Greene was fouled while shooting a three-pointer on the ensuing possession, and hit two of the three free throws.
