KAUPULEHU-KONA, Hawaii, Jan. 19 (UPI) -- Allen Doyle turned in a 6-under 66 Saturday to take a one-stroke lead over Fred Funk at the opening tournament on the 2008 senior Champions Tour.
Doyle, 59, made back-to-back birdie putts at the end of Saturday's second round of the MasterCard Championship.

The 11-time Champions Tour winner was at 15-under 129 for just his second 36-hole lead in nearly four years.
Funk was at 14-under 130, one shot ahead of first-round leader Tom Purtzer (69) and Jim Thorpe (68), with Jay Haas (67) another stroke further back at 132.
Charles Schwab Cup champion Loren Roberts (65) was tied with Denis Watson (66) and D.A. Weibring (69) at 133.
