TORONTO, Jan. 17 (UPI) -- Toronto Maple Leafs left wing Mark Bell had surgery Thursday to repair facial fractures and will be out for eight weeks, General Manager John Ferguson said.
Bell's operation was successful, Ferguson said.

The 27-year-old player was injured Jan. 3 during a fight in the third period of a game against the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Bell has two goals and five assists in 26 games this season. He also has played for the San Jose Sharks and Chicago Blackhawks in a seven-year NHL career.
