NHL: Colorado 3, Tampa Bay 0

TAMPA, Fla., Jan. 15 (UPI) -- Jose Theodore withstood a 22-shot barrage in the third period Tuesday, sparking the Colorado Avalanche to a 3-0 shutout of the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Theodore finished with 32 saves in earning his first shutout this season and 24th of his career. It was Colorado's first trip to Tampa Bay in four years. Theodore had gone 109 games without recording a shutout, with his last coming on Feb. 28, 2004.

Paul Stastny had a goal and an assist, and Jeff Finger and Milan Hejduk also scored for the Avalanche, which has won three straight games,

Karri Ramo allowed all three goals on 24 shots for the Lightning, who have lost 12 of their last 15 games.
