PITTSBURGH, Jan. 14 (UPI) -- Evgeni Malkin posted his second hat trick of the season Monday to carry the Pittsburgh Penguins to a 4-1 victory over the New York Rangers.

Sergei Gonchar also scored for the Penguins, who have won nine of their last 10 games. Sidney Crosby had two assists to move into a tie with Vincent Lecavalier for most points in the NHL with 63.

Ty Conklin had a career-high 43 saves in the victory, improving to 10


1 in his first 11 starts with Pittsburgh.

Jaromir Jagr scored the lone goal for the Rangers, who have lost six of their last seven games. Henrik Lundqvist gave up three goals on 22 shots.
