NHL: Nashville 2, Columbus 1 (SO)

COLUMBUS, Ohio, Jan. 12 (UPI) -- Nikolai Zherdev scored the lone goal of the shootout Saturday to give the Columbus Blue Jackets a 2-1 win over Nashville.

Zherdev sent a wrist shot past Predators goaltender Chris Mason on the short side. Mike Peca and Rick Nash followed by missing their chances, and Martin Erat was denied for Nashville.

On the final attempt, J.P. Dumont tried stick-handling while closing in on Pascal Leclaire, who squeezed his pads on the shot to end the game.

Rostislav Klesla scored in regulation for the Blue Jackets and Leclaire made 26 saves in regulation to earn his 15th win of the season.

Alexander Radulov scored for the Predators. Mason stopped 28 shots.
