NHL: Edmonton 5, Phoenix 2

EDMONTON, Alberta, Jan. 11 (UPI) -- Ethan Moreau touched off a three-goal first period Thursday and the Edmonton Oilers raced to a 5-2 decision over Phoenix.

The Oilers ended the Coyotes' longest winning streak of the season at five games. Phoenix had also won its previous six road games, which was just two short of the longest such streak in franchise history.
