NHL: Philadelphia 6, N.Y. Rangers 2

NEW YORK, Jan. 10 (UPI) -- The second hat trick of Scott Hartnell's career highlighted a Philadelphia rally Thursday that led the Flyers to a 6-2 victory over the New York Rangers.

New York owned a 2-0 lead after one period, but the Flyers scored three times in each of the next two periods. Philadelphia ended a six-game road trip with a 5-1 record.

Mike Richards had three assists and the Flyers also got goals from Simon Gagne, Stefan Ruzicka and Mike Knuble. Antero Niittymaki turned aside 39 of 41 shots.

Both New York scores came from Ryan Hollweg, who had the first multi-goal game of his NHL career. The Rangers have played five games in 2008 and have lost them all.

Hartnell's first goal gave the Flyers the lead midway through the second period. He added a pair of third-period goals, completing his hat trick 8:49 into the stanza.
