MELBOURNE, Jan. 10 (UPI) -- Top-ranked Roger Federer and Justine Henin were installed as the No. 1 seeds for the 2008 Australian Open, which begins Monday in Melbourne.

Federer, who has been bothered by a stomach ailment that kept him out of an open tuneup event, will meet Diego Hartfield of Argentina in the first round.

Henin takes on Aiko Nakamura of Japan in the opening round.
