COL BKB: Butler 74, Wis.-Green Bay 65

INDIANAPOLIS, Jan. 10 (UPI) -- A 22-point performance by Matt Howard Thursday led 14th-ranked Butler to a 74-65 win over Wisconsin-Green Bay.

The Bulldogs (15-1, 4-1 Horizon Conference) won their seventh straight game. They used a 9-2 run midway through the second half to open a 61-49 advantage.

Mike Green added 18 points and A.J. Graves had 13. Butler has won the last seven meetings with the Phoenix.

Terry Evans led Wisconsin-Green Bay (9-5, 3-1) with 12 points, 13 rebounds and five blocked shots.

Butler rallied from an early eight-point deficit to take a 37-34 lead at intermission. Wisconsin-Green Bay came into the game as the fifth best free-throw shooting team in the country, but made only 10 of 18 from the line.
