EDMONTON, Alberta, Jan. 8 (UPI) -- Mathieu Garon posted his third shutout of the season Monday, giving the Edmonton Oilers a 4-0 victory over the New York Islanders.

Garon stopped all 34 shots he faced for the 13th shutout of his career.

Shawn Horcoff, Ales Hemsky and Jarret Stoll each had a goal and assist for Edmonton. Marty Reasoner also scored for the Oilers.

Rick DiPietro stopped 29 of 33 shots for New York, which lost its third straight.
