Duke center fractures foot again

DURHAM, N.C., Jan. 8 (UPI) -- Duke sophomore center Brian Zoubek will be sidelined indefinitely after breaking a bone in his left foot during practice Monday.

"This is a setback for Brian and for the team," said Duke Coach Mike Krzyzewski. "He worked hard to recover from the injury over the summer and was beginning to solidify his role with the team. We have total confidence that Brian will recover from the injury and return as soon as he is physically able."

Prior to the injury, which will not require surgery, the 7-foot-1 Zoubek was averaging 4.3 points and 3.7 rebounds per game, and shot a team-best 59.5 percent from the floor.

Zoubek suffered a similar injury during a pick-up game in July. He had surgery at Duke University Medical Center and was out of action for 10 weeks.

Duke junior guard Martynas Pocius of Lithuania had surgery on his left ankle Tuesday and will be out for the remainder of the season.
