Collins, Bigby, Bryant win NFC awards

NEW YORK, Jan. 3 (UPI) -- Washington quarterback Todd Collins, who led his team to four straight wins and into the playoffs, was named NFC offensive player of the month Thursday.

Green Bay safety Atari Bigby won the December honor for defense and Tampa Bay kicker Matt Bryant for special teams.

Collins, a 13-year veteran, completed 67of 105 passes for 888 yards and five touchdowns during the month. He had no interceptions.

Bigby intercepted four passes and Bryant kicked 10 field goals and 12 extra points in December.
