NHL: Philadelphia 1, Florida 0

SUNRISE, Fla., Dec. 30 (UPI) -- Derian Hatcher scored the game-winner in the third period Sunday in the Philadelphia Flyers' 1-0 victory at Florida.

His second goal this season came at the 9:14 mark of the third period and broke up a scoreless duel between opposing goaltenders Antero Niittymaki and Tomas Vokoun.

Niittymaki stopped all 38 Florida shots in his first shutout this season.

Hatcher scored after assists by Stefan Ruzicka and Sami Kapanen to help the Flyers record their first three-game winning streak after a season-high six straight losses.

Vokoun stopped all but one of Philadelphia's 20 shots and the Panthers suffered their third loss in seven contests.

Both clubs went scoreless in four power play opportunities.
