NFL: San Diego 30, Oakland 17

OAKLAND, Calif., Dec. 30 (UPI) -- Philip Rivers completed 13 of 23 passes for 135 yards and two touchdowns Sunday to lead the San Diego Chargers to a 30-17 win against the Oakland Raiders.

LaDainian Tomlinson carried 16 times for 56 yards for the Chargers (11-5), who clinched the third seed for the wild card round of the playoffs.


Tomlinson wrapped up his second straight NFL rushing title, finishing the season with 1,474 yards.

Antonio Gates had 62 yards on six catches and Chris Chambers finished with 49 yards on three receptions and one score in the win.

Rookie JaMarcus Russell made his first NFL start, managing 23 of 31 passing for 224 yards, one touchdown and one interception for the Raiders (4-12), who have lost four in a row.

Dominic Rhodes carried 29 times for 122 yards and a score, while tight end Zach Miller hauled in eight passes for 84 yards.
