MEMPHIS, Dec. 28 (UPI) -- A career-best 22 points from Luis Scola Friday allowed the Houston Rockets to pull away in the second half for a 103-83 victory over Memphis.
With Tracy McGrady out of action due to a sore left knee, Scola came on to have his second straight big game. The native of Argentina scored 18 points in a losing cause against Detroit Sunday.
Houston finished the first half on a 12-6 run that gave them a 50-43 lead and they steadily increased the advantage in the second half. Houston limited Memphis to 37 percent shooting from the field.
The Grizzlies were led by Pau Gasol with 23 points in their fourth straight loss.
