Roethlisberger wins AFC 'player' honor

NEW YORK, Dec. 27 (UPI) -- PIttsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger was named AFC Offensive Player of the Week Thursday.

Roethlisberger completed 16 of 20 passes (80 percent) for 261 yards and three touchdowns in Pittsburgh's 41-24 win over the St. Louis Rams.

He had a perfect passer rating for the third time in his career, equaling the Colts' Peyton Manning.

Other AFC honors went to Tennessee Titans end Kyle Vanden Bosch (defense) and Indianapolis kick returner Darrell Reid (special teams).

Vanden Bosch recorded 12 tackles, three sacks and one forced fumble in the Titans' 10-6 victory against the New York Jets.

Reid made three tackles on kickoff coverage and one on punt coverage in the Titans' 38-15 win over Houston.
