BUFFALO, N.Y., Dec. 26 (UPI) -- Dany Heatley had a goal and two assists Wednesday, fueling the Ottawa Senators' 5-3 victory over the Buffalo Sabres.
Heatley assisted on Wade Redden's goal at 8:02 of the second period and Daniel Alfredsson's 21st goal this season in the third. He scored his 23rd goal this season into an empty net one second before the game ended.
Ottawa's other goals were scored by Antoine Vermette and Mike Fisher in the second.
It was Redden's first goal in the last 10 games.
Jason Spezza had two assists, while net-minder Martin Gerber stopped 29 of 32 shots for the Senators, who have won eight times in their last 10 games.
Buffalo got one goal each from Jochen Hecht, Brian Campbell and Adam Mair.
Ryan Miller and Tim Connolly combined to yield four goals on 23 Ottawa shots for the Sabres, whose season-high eight-game winning streak ended.
On the power play, both clubs went one for three.
