NHL: Dallas 4, Montreal 1

DALLAS, Dec. 23 (UPI) -- Mike Ribeiro had a goal and two assists Sunday to lead the Dallas Stars' 4-1 victory over the Montreal Canadiens.

He assisted on power play goals by Antti Miettinen and Brenden Morrow in the first period when Dallas took a 2-0 lead into the first intermission.

He scored his 19th goal this season (power play) at 1:10 of the third to increase the lead to 3-0.

Stu Barnes scored his second goal this season (power play) at 3:11 of the third.

Goalie Marty Turco stopped 17 of the 18 shots by Montreal for the Stars, who have won six of their last seven games.

Montreal's lone goal was scored by Andrei Markov (short-handed) at 13:35 of the third.

Goalie Carey Price gave up four goals on 21 Dallas shots for the Canadiens, who have lost three of four.

Dallas went 4 for 5 on the power play while Montreal was 0 for 5.

The contest featured 14 penalties evenly divided.
