Florida State reveals bowl roster

TALLAHASSEE, Fla., Dec. 23 (UPI) -- Florida State has set its depleted roster for its Dec. 31 appearance against Kentucky in the Music City Bowl in Nashville.

Among the players not listed by Coach Bobby Bowden were linebacker Dekoda Watson, quarterback Xavier Lee and cornerback Patrick Robinson.

No reason was given for the absences, but reports say the Seminoles (6-6) will be without 36 players after a cheating scandal was uncovered.

"It is very important that the media make clear that those missing the bowl trip are not included because of either injury or for a violation of team policy," said Florida State associate athletic director Rob Wilson in a statement. "We cannot, due to student records laws, provide more specific information with respect to each student-athlete. It would be irresponsible to imply or state that any or all of the student-athletes will miss the trip for one particular reason."

Watson led the defense with 50 tackles this season, while Robinson made six interceptions and Lee started three times.
