NBA: Charlotte 105, New York 95

CHARLOTTE, N.C., Dec. 21 (UPI) -- Gerald Wallace scored 27 points Friday when the Charlotte Bobcats beat the New York Knicks 105-95.

The final score did not tell the tale of how Charlotte dominated most of the contest.

Its lead was 34-24 after the first quarter and swelled to 67-44 at the half.

New York staged a rally in the fourth but ran out of gas.

Charlotte's Nazr Mohammed had 20 points and 14 rebounds.

Jason Richardson and Emeka Okafor scored 17 points apiece for the Bobcats, who have won three of their last five games and six of the last eight against the Knicks.

New York got 20 points and four rebounds from reserve guard Nate Robinson.

Jamal Crawford had 16 points and five rebounds.

Zach Randolph had 15 points and seven rebounds, and two other players reached double figures for the Knicks, who had won two of its past three.
