KNOXVILLE, Tenn., Dec. 19 (UPI) -- Chris Lofton boosted Tennessee to a 25-point lead in the second half Wednesday and the Volunteers coasted to an 86-73 win over North Carolina-Asheville.
The 12th-ranked Volunteers (10-1) won their fifth straight and ran their home winning streak to 23 games.

Lofton scored 24 points, while JaJuan Smith and J.P. Prince had 13 each.
The Bulldogs (8-3) were paced by K.J. Garland with 22 and Bryan Smithson with 21.
Tennessee started the game with a 13-1 run, took a 42-26 lead at the half and built it to 58-33 four minutes into the second period.
This was the Volunteers' only home game in December.
