NEW YORK, Dec. 15 (UPI) -- The NBA Friday suspended Chicago's Tyrus Thomas for one game and fined Indiana's Troy Murphy $10,000 for an altercation in a game this week.
The players were ejected with 3:51 left in the second quarter of a 117-102 Pacers' victory in Indianapolis after Thomas hit Murphy in the face and Murphy shoved Thomas. No solid punches were thrown.

Thomas, who served his suspension during the Bulls' 101-96 win over the New York Knicks Friday, is a rookie forward, Murphy a six-year center.
The suspension and fine were levied by NBA Executive Vice President of Basketball Operations Stu Jackson.
