COL BKB: Villanova 103, Hartford 75

VILLANOVA, Pa., Dec. 14 (UPI) -- Scottie Reynolds scored 21 points Friday to lead 18th-ranked Villanova past pesky Hartford 103-75.

Villanova's halftime lead over the Hawks was just 44-41, and Hartford stayed close until a 12-0 run, capped by Reynolds' free throw, gave Villanova a 78-63 advantage with 7:42 remaining.

Reynolds sank three three-pointers during the game-breaking spurt.

Corey Fisher scored 18, Shane Clark and Dante Cunningham scored 16 apiece, Malcolm Grant scored 12 points, while Reynolds also had three rebounds and six assists for the Wildcats (8-1), who have won four in a row since their lone loss this season, 69-68, Nov. 25 at N.C. State.

Hartford was led by Joe Zeglinski's 20 points, three rebounds and four assists.

Warren McLendon had 19 points and eight rebounds, and Michael Turner added 14 points, six rebounds and four assists for the Hawks (5-7), who had their five-game winning streak snapped in the first-ever meeting between the schools.

It was their ninth straight road loss.
