NHL: Tampa Bay 3, Montreal 2 (SO)

MONTREAL, Dec. 11 (UPI) -- Brad Richards scored the only goal in the shootout Tuesday, delivering the Tampa Bay Lightning a 3-2 win over the Montreal Canadiens.

Vinny Lecavalier, playing in his native Montreal, scored his 20th goal. Andre Roy also scored for Tampa Bay, which improved to 4-1-1 in its last six games.

Marc Denis allowed two goals on 30 shots in the victory.

Alex Kovalev and Tomas Plekanec scored for the Canadiens, who are now winless in their last six home games (0-4-2). Carey Price stopped 29 shots in the losing effort.
