NHL: Anaheim 5, Chicago 3

CHICAGO, Dec. 7 (UPI) -- Mathieu Schneider scored the eventual game-winner Friday to help the Anaheim Ducks beat the Chicago Blackhawks 5-3.

Schneider's fourth goal of the season staked Anaheim to a 3-1 advantage at 11:47 of the second period.

Chris Kunitz scored twice -- once in the second and once unassisted into an empty net in the third -- giving him 11 goals this season.

Ryan Getzlaf added a goal and two assists, while goaltender Jean-Sebastien Giguere stopped 39 of 42 shots for the Ducks, who rose to 10


1 in their recent games against Chicago.

Jonathan Towers scored his 11th goal this season on the power play at 1:07 of the first to give Chicago a quick 1-0 lead, which did not last.

Robert Lang and Patrick Sharp also scored, and goalie Nikolai Khabibulin was beaten four times on 21 shots for the Blackhawks, who have dropped three straight.

On the power play, Anaheim went 1 for 6, and Chicago went 1 for 3.
