Rams QB Frerotte has injured shoulder

ST. LOUIS, Dec. 3 (UPI) -- St. Louis Rams quarterback Gus Frerotte injured his right shoulder Sunday while filling in for Mark Bulger in a 28-16 win over the Atlanta Falcons.

Frerotte was hurt when he landed on the shoulder after throwing the first of two interceptions.

"It was more sore than anything after the game," said Rams Coach Scott Linehan during his Monday news conference. "It's something that we're having checked out. It was much more sore (Monday) than right after the game.

"He was able to finish, so hopefully it will be something not serious. It bothered him enough, a couple of hours after the game and then (Monday) morning."

Frerotte completed 23 of 35 passes for 311 yards and three touchdowns against the Falcons.

Bulger, the Rams No. 1 quarterback, sat out Sunday's game because of concussion symptoms. He will have a neuropsych test Tuesday. If he passes the test, he will play Sunday at Cincinnati.
