NHL: New Jersey 4, Montreal 0

NEWARK, N.J., Nov. 30 (UPI) -- Zach Parise's hat trick and Martin Brodeur's 27 saves carried the New Jersey Devils to a 4-0 blanking of Montreal Friday night.

The first hat trick of Parise's career helped give New Jersey its first six-game winning streak since the Devils ended the 2005-06 regular season with 11 consecutive triumphs.

New Jersey has beaten Montreal nine straight times.

Montreal's rookie goaltender Carey Price let in four of 33 shots, as the Canadiens lost for the third time in four games.

Parise scored the game's first goal with 34.2 seconds left in the opening period and he produced a power-play tally with 6:50 remaining in the second.

His third goal came with a two-man advantage at 6:22 of the third.
