UNIONDALE, N.Y., Nov. 28 (UPI) -- Mike Sillinger's wrist shot in the sixth round of a shootout Wednesday delivered the New York Islanders a 3-2 win over Ottawa.

Sillinger gave the Islanders the win by lifting his wrister over Ray Emery's shoulder. Bill Guerin scored the other shootout goal for New York.

Both of Ottawa's regulation goals came from Andrej Meszaros, who tied the game with 1:55 remaining in the third period. Ottawa lost its fourth straight.

After Sillinger's goal in the shootout, DiPietro turned away an attempt by Dean McAmmond to end it.

Ottawa had defeated the Islanders in their previous eight meetings. The Senators' four-game skid is their longest in two seasons.
