COL BKB: Duke 78, Eastern Ky. 43

DURHAM, N.C., Nov. 25 (UPI) -- Freshman forward Taylor King scored a career-high 27 points Sunday as 10th-ranked Duke walloped Eastern Kentucky 78-43.

When Duke raced out to a 34-12 halftime lead, the contest basically was over.

King, a burly 6-foot-6, 230-pound native of Huntington Beach, Calif., sank 3-of-4 three-pointers in the first-half onslaught.

DeMarcus Nelson added 12 points and four rebounds. Gerald Henderson had 10 points and three rebounds as nine players scored for the unbeaten Blue Devils (6-0), who extended their non-ACC winning streak to an NCAA-record 54 straight games at Cameron Indoor Stadium.

Adam Leonard led EKU with 12 points. Mike Rose had 11 points and three rebounds and was the only other player in double figures for the Colonels, who fell to 2-3 after their third straight loss.

They committed 27 turnovers.
