UNIONDALE, N.Y., Nov. 24 (UPI) -- Richard Park scored a tie-breaking goal in the third period Saturday night, as the New York Islanders beat the Boston Bruins 2-1.
Park scored his second goal of the season unassisted at 7:30 of the period to break a 1-1 deadlock.
Andy Hilbert scored the other goal in the second, and goaltender Rick DiPietro stopped 20-of-21 shots, as the Islanders won the back end of a home-and-home holiday weekend series to end a two-game skid.
They lost the opener 2-1 at Boston Friday afternoon.
P.J Axelsson scored for Boston in the first period.
Goalie Tim Thomas stopped 27-of-29 shots for the Bruins, who had won their previous two games.
On the power play, both clubs went 0-for-3.
