DENVER, Nov. 24 (UPI) -- Matthew Lombardi had a goal and an assist Saturday night to help the Calgary Flames down the Colorado Avalanche 5-2.
Lombardi scored his seventh goal of the season late in the first period.
Calgary scored twice in each of the first two periods to go up 4-0.
Daymond Langkow scored in the first, Adrian Aucoin and Stephen Yelle in the second, and Craig Conroy in the third, while goaltender Miikka Kiprusoff stopped 22-of-24 shots for the Flames, who have won two of three.
Colorado got one goal apiece from Joe Sakic and Brad Richardson.
Goalie Jose Theodore was beaten five times on 31 Calgary shots for the Avalanche, who have dropped four of their last five games.
There were 13 power plays in the penalty-filled contest with Calgary going 0-for-8 and Colorado went 0-for-5.
