HONOLULU, Nov. 24 (UPI) -- Colt Brennan was 40-of-53 passing for 495 yards and five touchdowns and ran for a touchdown Friday night in No. 13 Hawaii's 39-27 win over No. 17 Boise State.
In leading the Warriors to the Western Athletic Conference title and keeping them in the running for a BCS bowl bid, Brennan continued his assault on the NCAA record books.
His first touchdown pass -- his 122nd college TD strike -- put him ahead of Brigham Young's Ty Detmer. It was also his 136th NCAA touchdown overall, which also broke a record set by Detmer, who graduated in 1991.
Davone Bess caught 15 passes for 181 yards and two TDs for Hawaii (11-0) which is one of just two unbeaten schools -- along with Kansas -- in the FBS.
Jason Rivers caught 11 passes for 113 yards and a touchdown, and C.J. Hawthorne caught 11 passes for 111 yards and a TD. Ryan Grice-Mullen had five receptions for 55 yards and a touchdown for the Warriors, who are at home against Washington next Saturday.
Taylor Tharp was 22-of-36 passing for 231 yards, with one touchdown and one interception for the Broncos (10-2), who had won the conference title in each of the past five years.
Ian Johnson carried the ball 22 times for 92 yards and two touchdowns, and caught three passes for 39 yards for Boise State.
