COL BKB: Tennessee 74, West Virginia 72

NEWARK, N.J., Nov. 24 (UPI) -- Seventh-ranked Tennessee used late free throws to keep West Virginia at bay and top the Mountaineers 74-72 Friday in the semifinals of the Legends Classic.

Chris Lofton had 19 points for the Vols (5-0), who will play Texas in the championship game.

Lofton and JaJuan Smith hit key free throws in the closing minutes.

Alex Ruoff led the Mountaineers (2-1) with 17 points.

West Virginia plays New Mexico State in the tournament consolation game.
