COL BKB: Syracuse 91, Washington 85

NEW YORK, Nov. 23 (UPI) -- Donte Greene had a game-high 25 points and seven rebounds Friday night, as No. 21 Syracuse beat Washington 91-85.

The contest was the consolation game of the NIT Season Tip-Off at New York's Madison Square Garden.

Eric Devendorf had 18 points and four assists, Johnny Flynn scored 16 points -- including 10-of-13 free throws -- while Paul Harris had 12 points, five rebounds and three assists for the Orange (4-1), who rebounded from Wednesday night's 79-65 loss to Ohio State.

Washington, which could not overcome a 48-39 halftime deficit, got 20 points, 13 rebounds and three assists from Quincy Poindexter. Justin Dentmon had 16 points, five rebounds and five assists.

Venoy Overton had 11 points, five assists and six rebounds, while Jon Brockman had 10 points and nine rebounds for the Huskies (3-2), who have dropped two in a row following a season-opening three-game winning streak.
