NHL: Toronto 3, Ottawa 0

TORONTO, Nov. 18 (UPI) -- Vesa Toskala recorded his first shutout of the season Saturday night, as the Toronto Maple Leafs beat the Ottawa Senators, 3-0.

Darcy Tucker scored what turned out to be the decisive goal on the power play at 19:15 of the second period. Mats Sundin (power play), and Jiri Tlusty scored once each.

Tomas Kaberle and Bryan McCabe had two assists apiece, while Toskala stopped all 24 Ottawa shots, as the Maple Leafs ended a three-game losing streak.

It was Toskala's ninth career shutout.

His counterpart, Martin Gerber, was beaten three times on 18 shots for the Senators, who lost for only the second time in their last 12 games.

Ottawa's John Paddock coached his 300th career NHL game.

In man-advantage situations, Ottawa went scoreless on four opportunities, and Toronto was 2-for-4.
