VANCOUVER, British Columbia, Nov. 17 (UPI) -- Taylor Pyatt started a four-goal, first-period onslaught Friday night, as the Vancouver Canucks blasted Minnesota, 6-2.
The Canucks won for the fourth time in five games and overpowered Minnesota goaltender Josh Harding.
Harding gave up three goals on seven shots before being replaced late in the first period by Niklas Backstrom. Vancouver also scored three times against Backstrom, but it took the Canucks 21 shots to do it.
Aaron Voros stopped the bleeding for Minnesota by scoring his first goal of the season just 13 seconds after the Canucks had gone in front by four. But Vancouver's Trevor Linden scored the only goal of the second period to halt any thought of a Minnesota comeback.
The Wild completed a four-game road trip with a 1-3 record.
