MANHATTAN, Kan., Nov. 17 (UPI) -- Michael Beasley had 28 points and 22 rebounds Saturday afternoon, as 24th-ranked Kansas State posted a 77-64 victory over Western Illinois.
Western Illinois (1-2) was led by David Jackson, who scored 12 points. The Leathernecks have lost two of three to start the season. David Nurse had 11 points and David Dubois had 10.
Kansas State had a 16-5 lead 6:50 into the game but Western Illinois made it a one-point game with 1:25 left in the first half. A Beasley three pointer with 45 second left gave Kansas State a 31-27 halftime lead.
