PHILADELPHIA, Nov. 15 (UPI) -- Brendan Shanahan scored in the second round of a shootout Thursday night, as the New York Rangers beat Philadelphia, 4-3.
The contest went to overtime after regulation ended in a 3-3 deadlock. There was no scoring in the overtime.

New York's regulation tallies came from Fedor Tyutin (first period), Shanahan (second) and Petr Prucha (third).
Goaltender Henrik Lundqvist stopped 20-of-23 shots for the Rangers, who have won four in a row.
Philadelphia's goals were scored by Jim Dowd (first), Daniel Briere (power play in the second) and Denis Tolpeko -- who tied the game, 3-3, at 10:29 of the third.
On the power play, New York was 0-for-5, and the Flyers went 1-for-5.
