COL BKB: Oregon 97, Western Michigan 88

EUGENE, Ore., Nov. 13 (UPI) -- Malik Hairston fired in 29 points and blocked four shots Monday, pacing No. 13 Oregon's 97-88 win over Western Michigan.

Hairston connected on nine of 11 shots from the field, including all three of his three-point attempts.

Maarty Leunen added 18 points, while Bryce Taylor and Joevan Catron each scored 17 for the Ducks (3-0), who shot 56 percent from the field, including 10-of-21 from three-point range.

David Kool scored 24 points, Joe Reitz added 21 and Derek Drews had 16 for the Broncos (1-2), who at 43.5 percent from the field.

The Broncos found themselves down by 19 points in the second half but got as close as six at 76-70 with 7:13 left on a pair of Reitz foul shots, and at 92-86 on a layup by Kool with 43 seconds left.
