NHL: Philadelphia 5, Pittsburgh 2

PHILADELPHIA, Nov. 10 (UPI) -- Kimmo Timonen had a goal and three assists Saturday night, as the Philadelphia Flyers beat the Pittsburgh Penguins, 5-2.

Teammate Daniel Briere had a goal and two assists, and Mike Knuble (power play), Joffrey Lupul (shorthanded) and Scott Hartnell (empty net) all scored once for Philadelphia.

Mike Richards had three assists, while goaltender Martin Biron stopped 29-of-31 shots for the Flyers, who remain the NHL's only unbeaten team at home this season with a 5-0 mark.

The last time Philadelphia achieved that feat was the 1986-87 season, when the team won eight its first eight home games.

Pittsburgh's Evgeni Malkin had a goal and an assist. Sergei Gonchar scored a goal, Sidney Crosby had an assist to extend his point streak to a career-high 16 games, and goalie Marc-Andre Fleury yielded four goals on 29 shots for the Penguins, who have dropped three in a row and five of their last six games.

On the power play, Pittsburgh went 2-for-6, and the Flyers were 2-for-7.
