NHL: N.Y. Islanders 2, New Jersey 1

UNIONDALE, N.Y., Nov. 10 (UPI) -- Miroslav Satan scored the game-winning goal Saturday night, as the New York Islanders downed the New Jersey Devils, 2-1.

With the game tied, 1-1, Satan beat Martin Brodeur on the power play for his fifth goal this season.

New York's Josef Vasicek scored his fifth goal in the first period. Chris Campoli had two assists and Rick DiPietro stopped 20-of-21 shots for the Islanders, who improved upon to 5-1-0 against Atlantic Division opponents.

New Jersey's goal was scored by Dainius Zubrus early in the third.

Brodeur gave up two goals on 22 shots for the Devils, who have dropped two in a row. Brodeur was denied in his quest for a 500th career victory.

On the power play, New York was 1-for-4, while New Jersey did not have a power play chance, as the Islanders were not penalized in the contest.
