"It's always more enjoyable being in front than behind, but there are great players (around) me," said Mickelson, who tied for 23rd place at last week's Singapore Open. "It would mean a lot to come out on top here in China on my first time here."

England's Ross Fisher (68) is second at 12-under 204.

Another Englishman, Paul Casey, follows in third place at 11-under 205, and American Kevin Stadler (73) is fourth at 10-under 206, with all four players from the top having a chance to win the tournament.
