SEMMES, Ala., Nov. 9 (UPI) -- Paula Creamer Friday grabbed a five-stroke lead through two rounds of the LPGA's Tournament of Champions at Semmes, Ala.

In round two, Creamer shot a bogey-free 5-under-par 67 to move to 12-under 132 at the tournament's midpoint. She was a co-leader with Meg Mallon after Thursday's first round.

She rolled in a 35-foot birdie putt at No. 18 Friday to cap off her second straight solid round.

"That's pretty good," Creamer said after being told she has made 14 birdies in the last 25 holes. "I feel very confident. I am hitting the ball really well. I'm putting good (but) there is a lot of golf left."

Defending champion Jin Joo Hong is second at 7-under 135 after a 5-under 67 Friday.

Former world No. 1 Annika Sorenstam (67) and Pat Hurst (69) share third at 6-under 136, with Karen Stupples (67) one stroke further back at 5-under 137.

Mallon fell into a tie for 29th place after a 10-over 82 Friday.
