SEATTLE, Nov. 8 (UPI) -- Rudy Gay scored 25 points Wednesday and Memphis enjoyed a big third quarter in winning its first game of the year, 105-98 over Seattle.
The SuperSonics lost their fifth straight contest to start the season, the first time they have done that in 38 years.
Mike Miller added 20 points for the Grizzlies, who opened their campaign with two straight home losses.
Seattle built a 57-49 halftime lead and then was outscored by 14 points in the third period. Memphis hit only 36 percent of its shots from the field, but made 10 three-pointers.
