NBA: LA Clippers 104, Indiana 89

INDIANAPOLIS, Nov. 7 (UPI) -- Sam Cassell scored 35 points Wednesday as the Los Angeles Clippers downed the Indiana Pacers 104-89 in a battle of NBA unbeatens.

Indiana led 58-55 at the half before Los Angeles used a 32-14 third quarter to seize control.

Los Angeles' Corey Maggette scored 18 points. Center Chris Kaman had 15 points and 22 rebounds.

Tim Thomas had 15 points and six rebounds, and Al Thornton added 13 points and seven rebounds as the Clippers improved to 4-0.

Indiana was led by Danny Granger's 16 points, four rebounds and four assists. Mike Dunleavy added 15 points and eight rebounds.

Jermaine O’Neal had 13 points, five rebounds and five assists, while Jeff Foster and Troy Murphy scored 10 points apiece for the Pacers, who were just 35-47 last season, and missed the playoffs for the first time since 1997.

Before the game, the Pacers announced forward Ike Diogu will miss 4-6 weeks with a torn left calf muscle.
