SHIRMA-SHI, Japan, Nov. 3 (UPI) -- Japan's Momoko Ueda had a 5-under 67 Saturday to tie England's Laura Davies for a one-stroke lead through two rounds of the Mizuno Classic.
Davies, who posted a 65 Friday to take the first-round lead, suffered a double-bogey at the 14th hole Saturday that dropped her into a tie with Ueda. The veteran Englishwoman wound up with an even-par 72 in the second round.
The co-leaders were at 7-under 137 going into Sunday's final round.
Maria Hjorth (68) was tied for third place with Mie Nakata (70) and Reilley Rankin (72) at 6-under 138.
Ueda held the 36-hole lead in this tournament last year after shooting a third-round 64, but she closed with a 74 to finish seven shots behind champion Karrie Webb.
Ueda has never won on the LPGA Tour.
