NHL: Nashville 4, Edmonton 1

EDMONTON, Alberta, Nov. 3 (UPI) -- Jason Arnott put Nashville in front Friday, igniting a three-goal third period as the Predators knocked off Edmonton 4-1.

After losing six in a row, Nashville has won four of its last five. Dan Ellis, continuing in goal as a replacement for the struggling Chris Mason, stopped 30 shots for his fourth straight win.

The contest was tied at 1-1 going into the final period and Arnott scored the game-winner with 7:51 remaining.

Radek Bonk and Vernon Fiddler added insurance goals -- Fiddler's going into an empty net with 87 seconds to play.

Edmonton has lost three out of four and nine of 12. Ales Hemsky had the Oilers' only goal.

The game featured a scary moment early in the evening when Edmonton defenseman Mathieu Roy was blindsided by Nashville's Jordin Tootoo. Roy's head hit the boards and he remained motionless for several moments.

A stretcher was brought out, but Roy eventually got to his feet and skated off with assistance.
