SINGAPORE, Nov. 3 (UPI) -- Angel Cabrera Saturday built his lead to four strokes through three rounds of the Barclay's Singapore Open Golf Tournament.

The reigning U.S. Open champion began the day with a two-stroke lead, then overcame steamy weather conditions to move to the verge of his first victory on the Asian Tour.

"I played quite a good round, it was a working round," Cabrera, a native of Argentina, said through an interpreter. "I had to work my way around. It was tough, the winds were picking up and the greens are getting very hard."

He ended 54 holes at the Sentosa Golf Club at 9-under-par 204 after a 1-under 70.

Jin Park of the United States (72) is second at 5-under 208.

England's Lee Westwood (71) is third at 4-under 209, with two-time defending champion Adam Scott (73) of the United States and India's Vijay Singh (70) knotted in fourth at 3-under 210.
